Section of the conglomerate dominated by rounded clasts.
Interpreted photo. Close up of the bed boundary, the finer material is sand. The matrix of the conglomerate is clay dominated but has a wide range of sand and silt sized particles also. In this photo the black clasts are chert, that originated from the Naparima Hill. The reddish clasts appear to be a mudstone. Note that the clasts are angular – sub-rounded, very poorly sorted, have a wide size range and are clast supported.
