Waring (1926) used the term Point-Pierre Formation for these outcrops at Simpsons Point on the Point-a-Pierre coast. Based on arenaceous foraminifera recovered in Point-a-Pierre the age appears to be Lower Eocene, however, there has been no foraminifera recovery at any other outcrop locality. &nbsp;Algar et. al.
